Starting with iOS 11, iPhones have saved photos in HEIC file format by default setting. HEIC — Apple's HEIC format — is technically impressive: it generates pictures with roughly half the storage of similar JPEGs maintaining high photo quality. However there is a major problem. HEIC is an Apple-centric format not universally accepted beyond
